Since our inception and over the years, the group ride has raised money for the Starlight Foundation, the family of Nick Edwards (Gracetown Shark attack victim on 2010), and in 2011 we joined forces with the Telethon Adventurers to raise money and purchased much needed medical equipment for the Margaret River- Augusta Hospital.
The Telethon Adventurers is a unique charity with a mission to find the cause and ultimately the cure for Childhood Cancer while supporting both the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) and the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research (TICHR). Their adventures and supporting fundraising events provide funding for much needed equipment and critical research. In the last 4 years, we have contributed in raising over $5 million and created one of the best childhood brain tumor research laboratories in the world! WE are all volunteers with no paid staff and overheads, which means that 98% of the funds raised and donated are utilised for their intended purpose! For us to continue the support of people and companies like yours is needed.
We are passionate about using our network of contacts to raise money and awareness for those suffering from cancer particularly in the South West. As we are all aware, cancer has no boundary which is why it was an easy progression for Tour de Gracetown to join forces with Peter Wilson / Rick Parish and the Telethon Adventurers.
On average 100 children in WA are diagnosed with some form of cancer each year! We have to stop this…..we must find the cure!
