TOUR DE GRACETOWN 11TH ANNIVERSARY
SATURDAY 5TH NOV 2016
Registration is now open: Registration Link
There is no other South West touring event like the Tour de Gracetown and now in its 11th year – it grows from strength to strength.
We recently celebrated our 10th Anniversary with the return to our roots – at the Gracetown Hall in Gracetown where it all began some 11 years previously.
We can also be proud of the fact that we are probably one of the original Western Australian based ride events that donate our proceeding to local charities. To make it uniquely Australian – the entire event management team as well as associated companies working towards the success of TDG are also Australian and we ensure that our event contributes to the local infrastructure and the economy.
We are definitely not a road race but instead a social community ride for charity – and we have since 2015 created realistic average speed groups so that riders who are signing up can self-seed themselves and also invite their friends to sign up appropriately.
We recently conducted a survey among our participants over the years and we have tailor made the November 2016 to suit your needs.
For example:
1. The Caves Road sector will remain neutral per Road Traffic permits and for safety reasons with our signature Safety Vehicles travelling at the agreed speed of 25 km/h.
2. For safety reasons, there will still be the required Rosa Brook stopover for the rest before commencement and also for traffic management reasons along Bussell Hwy and Caves Road for the return journey.
3. The event will complete at Gracetown itself with no additional adjournments to any wineries.
The commencement times and average speed categories are appended in the sign up section. We are also encouraging as many groups to attend and ride in YOUR colors whilst at the same time also supporting the charity by pre-purchasing our Event Jersey that you can then use in the course of the year to continually remind the cycling community about the Tour de Gracetown.
We are equally fortunate to have great synergy partners in this year’s event namely Telethon Adventurers, Glen Parker Cycles, the Bike Valet, ETIXX Hydration and the Perth Integrated Health Cycling Group, Café 2 U Kenwick Maddington, Reids Meats, The Good Grocer and Perth Integrated Health sports medicine, They have together combined their expertise and experience to ensure that this TDG will be one to celebrate with the somber focus that our ride event is for a cause and that of women suffering from cancer.
We will be hosting Training Rides for TDG 2016 where we will train riders to accomplish the TDG 55 km which is for developing and progressive riders and TDG 110 km which is for established and endurance riders commencing from Sept 2016 onward. We will cater training for both but you will need to indicate your interest in the registration column.
Those with GPS enabled computers can also look forward to the provision of turn by turn GPX and TCX files and we are making arrangements to ensure that the Bike Valet will be available for those wishing to do the 55 km distance and still have transportation back to where we will be hosting our celebrations!
COSTS:
- Under 18s – 55km and 110km – $50
- Over 18s – 55km – $75
- Over 18s – 110km – $100
